City Planning

I came across this photo of a decidedly wacky building that I took while on holiday in Toronto, Canada a few years ago. It’s the Ontario College of Art & Design. How on earth did that ever get past the city planners, and aren’t you glad that it did? How can you not be inspired studying somewhere like that?

  1. Inspired, more like on magic mushrooms. I never spotted that when I was there.

  2. I like the occasional wacky building. I'm less happy about some of the planning by people like Will Alsop who wants to turn whole cities and towns into toytowns

    1. I agree. The odd spot of frivolity brightens the place up. Too much, and it begins to look forced.
