Last Train to Nowhere

On the way home from the Autumn Camp in Northumberland I made a slight detour to take some photos of the old railway station at Melrose.



As you can see this is a rather splendid Victorian station. However, the actual railway line was removed in the 1960s during the Beeching Cuts leaving it a station without any trains.



The last time I had passed some years ago it had been turned into an artists colony, but it was once more empty and up for sale. Imagine buying it and living somewhere like this.
