Military Post

Sometimes you don’t need to seek interesting machines out.

Passing the bike bay at work today I came across this lovely little BSA Bantam in army post office livery.

It was obviously well used and had marked its territory in the usual way of old British bikes by depositing a few spots of oil onto the ground underneath the gearbox.

I have no idea who owns it, or if it will ever be back, but it quite made my morning.

Edit: a wiser man than I has identified this as a 125cc D1.

Two Germans

Another couple of bikes I used to own.

In the foreground is the little MZ ETZ125 that I rebuilt in the spare bedroom one winter, and behind that is my old BMW R100RS boxer-twin.

Of the two bikes, I regret selling the MZ more than the boxer.

New Year's Honours

I’d forgotten about this. It was taken outside a bar in Amsterdam on a holiday a couple of years ago. We had stopped off on our way back from a week’s holiday in Chamonix in the French Alps. I might dig some of the other photos out and post a few on here.
